Your Mac has 31.4 GB you can get back.

PurgeKit shows exactly where it went — caches, old downloads, Xcode simulators, Docker images — and lets you take it back with one click. Changed your mind? Put it back.

Example from a developer's Mac. Your number will differ.

Built for developers. Simple enough for everyone.

PurgeKit knows where developer tools hide gigabytes — and which of it is safe to rebuild.

Xcode build artifacts · 22 GBXcode Simulators · 4.3 GBDocker layers · 6.1 GBOllama models · 7.2 GBnpm cache · 3.4 GBGradle cache · 2.9 GBBrowser caches · 3.1 GBOld installers · 2.2 GB

Example sizes. Everything PurgeKit finds for developers.

Three steps. No guesswork.

1. Scan

PurgeKit looks at names and sizes — never inside your files — and shows what's taking space.

2. Review

Every item is marked Safe, Review or Keep with a plain-English reason. Not sure? Ask the AI Advisor.

3. Remove

One click. Caches go to the Restore Bin for 7 days and your files go to the Trash, so you can put them back. Clean-ups run by a tool itself, like Docker's, are permanent.

Careful by design.

Put things back

Cleaned caches wait in the Restore Bin for 7 days. Your own files go to the Trash, never straight to deletion. Clean-ups run by a tool itself, like Docker's, can't be undone.

Never reads your files

Scans use names, sizes and dates only. Nothing from a scan leaves your Mac unless you ask the AI Advisor using an online provider.

Uses each tool's own clean-up

Where a developer tool has its own clean-up command, such as Docker or Xcode's simulator tool, PurgeKit uses it.

An AI Advisor that stays private.

Ask “what is this, and is it safe to remove?” about anything PurgeKit finds. You choose where the AI runs: Ollama on your own Mac, your Claude Code account, or your own API key. It runs only when you ask, and it gets a short description of those items — never your files.

Questions

Is it safe to remove what PurgeKit finds?

Every item is marked Safe, Review or Keep with a plain-English reason. Cleaned caches go to PurgeKit's Restore Bin for 7 days, and your own files go to the Trash, so you can put them back. Clean-ups run by a tool itself, like Docker's, are permanent.

Does PurgeKit read my files?

No. Scans look at names, sizes and dates — never inside your files. Nothing from a scan leaves your Mac unless you ask the AI Advisor using an online provider.

What happens when the free trial ends?

The trial lasts 7 days or until PurgeKit has removed 5 GB, whichever comes first. After that you can still scan and see what's taking space, and the Restore Bin keeps working. Removing and Ask AI need a subscription.

Do I need a card to start the trial?

No. Download the app and sign in with your email — that's it.

Why does the trial stop at 5 GB?

So everyone can see PurgeKit work on their own Mac, and so the trial can't be used as a free clean-up tool forever.

How does the AI Advisor work? Is it required?

It's optional. You choose where it runs: Ollama on your own Mac, your Claude Code account, or your own API key. It only runs when you ask, and it gets a short description of the items you asked about — never your files.

Can I use PurgeKit on more than one Mac?

Solo covers 1 Mac, Family 3 and Team 10. If you get a new Mac, sign the old one out from inside the app — up to 3 moves a month.

Does it work offline?

Scanning always works offline. A subscription keeps working for 14 days without internet. Trial removals need internet so they can be counted.

Which Macs are supported?

macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Cancel anytime from Settings → Account → Manage subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. You can get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment.
